Allen-Bradley is the brand-name of Industrial Automation & Control System products today owned by Rockwell Automation. A PLC-5 control system, at minimum, consists of a programmable controller and I/O modules in a single 1771 chassis with a power supply. A simple ControlLogix system consists of a standalone controller and I/O modules in one chassis. For a more comprehensive system, use the following: • Multiple controllers in one chassis • Multiple controllers joined across networks • I/O in multiple platforms that are distributed in many locations and connected over multiple I/O links.

The CompactLogix system is designed to provide a Logix solution for small and mid-size applications. Typically, these applications are machine-level control applications. A simple system can consist of a standalone controller with one bank of I/O modules and DeviceNet communication.

The CompactLogix 5370 L3 controllers deliver scalable, affordable control ideal for applications from small standalone equipment to high-performance indexing tables, process skids, case packers and erectors, and packaging.

The CompactLogix 5370 L3 controllers also provide a truly integrated motion solution.

You can use FactoryTalk® View Machine Edition to build your application and help simplify configuration and strengthen your Integrated Architecture solution. These terminals include Ethernet connectivity and enable you to monitor applications from remote locations with VNC connectivity.

These graphic terminals are available in 4...10 in. display sizes and are compatible with micro and small controllers. They feature high-performance processors, high-resolution displays, and high flash and dynamic memories. The built-in Ethernet and serial communication ports support a variety of networks. These terminals offer improved usability with remote monitoring capability.
